Center for Success Network unites community and literacy to empower students in their journey of education. Our vision is to vitalize the community's relationship with literacy, thereby inspiring families to relate with literacy as a fundamental necessity and encourage parents to generate themselves as primary stakeholders engaged in their children's success. Our collaboratively rich programs ignite a unified passion for education that inspires students to thrive academically within safe spaces and intentional learning structures where students connect with dedicated mentors for guided, specified literacy interventions. All of our mentors are background checked and cleared. We pave the way for community contribution towards childrenβs lifelong love of learning through reading.
After School Programs
We provide structured after school programming for the length of the school year for elementary and middle school students. Each session includes transportation from partner schools, a nourishing meal, enrichment activities, and one-on-one individualized literacy mentoring designed with each studentβs interests and unique literacy needs in mind. Program partners provide opportunities for students to dig deeper into the content area curriculum to support all subjects.
Virtual Programs
During the COVID-19 crisis, programming translated to connection over a variety of platforms. Students engaged with weekly virtual content, conversations and connection in activities ranging from yoga and creative writing, to riddles and read alouds. Mentors and students were trained to engage remotely, and connected weekly to read and complete customized literacy sessions. At-home learning kits containing books, literacy activities, STEM kits, art and craft materials and seed kits were distributed to our students and the community at large.
In the current hybrid space, we have both in-person and virtual sites. We plan to embrace and continue our progressively innovative virtual strategies which will increase our digital footprint, stretch our reach, and broaden the impact of our literacy proficiency work. The Center envisions normalizing virtual mentorship as a sustainable vehicle for deepening learning opportunities and engagement between larger numbers of students, their families, and the Center.
Summer Programs
We serve students, who are entering second through fifth grade, by creating individualized interventions based on their literacy needs. Through Summer of Success we connect parents, caregivers, students, schools, and community partners to enrich the summer experience of our students by instilling routine with rigorous academic support. This program supports students during the summer to guard against the summer slide and allow them to enter next school year with a positive outlook. Program Partners
Our students and their success is central to our decisions. The Center aspires to bring together those willing to support our students. From program partners to families, our goal is to bring together those who are working to lift up the youth so that through their potential they are compelled to lead us into the next generation. We will continue to partner with like-minded, youth serving organizations to engage our current and future students in various activities that channel their creativity, expose them to unique skill sets, and ignite their passion for education.
