The Need for Literacy

Literacy is critical to both individual and community well-being and economic development. Reading, writing, speaking and listening skills are necessary for success in education and for career development. The Center for Success Literacy Program promotes this critical skill to engage and inspire our curious students. Increasing literacy skills during individualized, one-on-one sessions with our mentors has allowed students to make measurable gains across all areas in school while building confidence and excitement for education!

We unite literacy and community to empower students in the journey of education.

Our Impact

Our greatest achievement is the positive progress of the students. On average, students in the CFSN Literacy Program grew 3 instructional and 3 independent reading levels, while simultaneously bonding with a mentor who becomes a trusted adult championing their success. In addition, students and their caregivers report an increase in eagerness to learn, confidence, focus, willingness to participate in school activities, and test scores.

Our Programs

Center for Success Network has developed programs based on student interest and goals identified through student assessments. Our programs bring together students and community partners during one-on-one, small group and whole class sessions to allow students to participate in various opportunities. Each experience allows students to employ diverse learning techniques that give a deeper understanding across all areas. By inspiring students to learn in a way that represents themselves and their interests, we are able to fuel the eagerness to discover what ignites their passion.
